North Somerset and Bristol Fungus Group

Hygrocybe helobia: one of the many Waxcap fungi to be found in grasslands near Clevedon. This one can be difficult to identify in the field, but place it in a small container for 30 minutes and the smell of garlic/spring onions is absolutely characteristic. Many samples were found in July 2007.
